Mortal Enemies is issue #4. It is also the fourth issue in the first story arc.
To keep them safe from harm, the Charmed ones bring the remaining innocents back to the manor. But little do they know the Source has returned and cast a spell turning every innocent in the entire city against them... Even as they fight to survive, the Charmed Ones learn that the source has planned his arrival at the perfect time to destroy the power of three once and for all.
Neena and Hogan are arguing. Neena has come up with a plan and Hogan doesn't like it one bit. The whole plan seems to lie almost entirely on him. He tells her "I was to be more rewarded, not have the next phase of the plan rely entirely on me." She teases him and he informs that his discord power doesn't work like that. She assures him that it will be enough for what they need. In the background the Source's eyes are glowing.
Phoebe and Paige are at the manor. They have serving trays and are trying to serve food to the innocents they have staying at the manor. Phoebe comments that she always thought the manor would make a good bed and breakfast to which Paige says she'd rather have a staff if that were the case. Phoebe tries to convince her that it no that bad, especially since they sent "the magic-weilding innocents to magic school." Paige reminds her that Leo has a full staff there. Phoebe tries one more tact as they both slump down in chairs and suggests that at least they aren't housing the whole city.
Neena's plan is put into effect. She stands back and watches as Hogan and the Source mix their powers. The Source casts a spell that will use their combined powers "to infect the minds, the bodies, and the souls of all mortals between ocean and bay." He continues to add that this power should be used to turn this infect against the Charmed Ones. At the manor as Phoebe and Paige are heading up the stairs to check in with Coop and Henry, the innocents in the manor stand up, their eyes glowing yellow. They are ready to attack.
With their innocents safely at the manor or at Magic School, Piper is looking for a place to put her restaurant. She has already looked at several locations, at least four of which she only said didn’t feel right. Her realtor is getting frustrated with her. At one place Piper comments “If I wanted dark I would have kept my club.” Apparently she has sold P3, possibly to finance buying her restaurant. When her realtor pointed out that she had other clients, Piper pointed out that it wasn’t her idea to do this today and that since they were here, they were going to keep looking until they found the right spot. She turns down more places, including one with a clown face and another with a disco ball before the realtor tells her that there is only one more place on her list. The last place is a rundown place with a dome and a cupid fountain in the middle. The realtor thinks, “It’s a dump.” Piper thinks, “It’s perfect.” When Piper decides that this was the place for her, she’s looking around when her realtor attacks her under the Source’s spell.
Phoebe and Paige reach the attic where Coop is looking through the Book of Shadows and Henry is on the phone. Phoebe and Paige join Coop in looking at the Book when they hear a crash downstairs. Phoebe and Coop go down to investigate while Paige keeps looking through the Book. Henry walks up behind her. Downstairs someone throws a vase at Phoebe and Coop. They manage to avoid getting hit and notice the eyes of all their innocents. Concluding that they were under a spell, they run back upstairs. Meanwhile, Henry has attacked Paige. He’s trying to choke her. Not knowing what else to do, she apologizes and calls a lamp to her. The lamp his him and knocks him out. Phoebe and Coop manage to get into the attack and Coop slams the door behind them. They stop up the door and Paige lets them know about Henry who is still unconscious. Phoebe has Coop grab the Book and told Paige that Piper was probably safer wherever she was.
